The Audiosharp AS0434 headphones arrived extremely well packaged in a colorful box that is covered in graphics. Inside you will find a molded plastic piece which holds the headphones and carry pouch. Also included with the headphones are 4 different size ear tips and a cable clip.
The build quality of these headphones is much better than expected for the price. Each ear piece is made of metal as is the connector. The cable from the controller to the connector is nylon braided and should take quite a bit of abuse. The controller is made of plastic and features a volume slider, mic, compatibility switch, and a single button to control play, pause, skip forward, and skip backward.
The sound output from the AS0434 is better than average and they get plenty loud for even the most demanding person without requiring an amp. Sound quality is also much better than expected at this price. The sound is fairly flat with a slight emphasis on the mid range and slight roll off in the upper frequencies. This provides a slightly mellow listening experience with no long term fatigue. People who enjoy music with an emphasis on vocals, plan to use these for gaming, or as a phone headset will really enjoy these sound characteristics.
The only con I could find with these headphones are that the left and right earpieces are not marked. For someone who has not used this style headphone this could be confusing.
Overall I really enjoy the sound of these headphones and am very happy with the build quality. They certainly have a spot in my vast headphone collection.
